I. Literacy
1. Know about 500 new characters,and be able to write about 300 new characters.
2. Continue learning common radicals on the basic of step 3, master totally about 80 common radicals and be
able to analyse the shape of characters.
3. Master the way of literacy on the basic of former 3 steps, such as pinyin method, guessing the meanings
according to the context and the way of look up words according to the radicals.
4. Learn to read characters according to part of them, that is ,read it by its phonetic component, and know the rules.
5. Master the order of Chinese capital letters, learn to find the characters by the first letter of the character’s
pinyin. And be able to find the character in two minutes by this way.
6. Get the habit of making sentences according to the rules of articles.
II. Reading
1. Read the main texts with emotions correctly and fluently.
2. Recite about 15 articles, sum up the logion and epigram in ’Chinese Corner’.
3. Learn to read silently instead of using your finger guiding to read the article word by word.
4. Imagine the content of the text by experiences, obtain the main meaning and discuss the questions behind
the text.
5. Accumulate the vocabularies and idioms from text and living actively.
6. Get the habits of reading. Stick to read everyday and look up new words at any moment.
III. Writing
1. Develop writing interest and write more. Combine your writing with your life, reading and activities. Just make
students be willing to write and allow them to make some mistakes temporarily.
2. Train students to copy the key and wonderful sentence。
3. For the communication and discussion in class, collect and choose excellent sentences to read, copy and accumulate.
Finish the transition from speaking to writing as soon as possible.
4. Learn to imitate to write sentences of sentence style, paragraph, content and writing rules from the texts.
5. Finish the relative practices involved in ’Chinese Corner’, such as talk and write according to the pictures, make
phrase and sentences, imitate to write and so on.
6. Keep on writing dairies in Chinese, at least one per week.
IV. Oral communication
1. Cultivate students the sense of participating and considering others. Be assured to let students communicate
with others.
2. Merge all activities into the process of Chinese study,pay attention to the effects and avoid the tendency of
'unhappy to study and happy for not to study’.
3. Take part in integrated study within class, enhance the oral communication ability。
4. Continue to develop the good habit of self-examine.
V. Learning Content
The content have to be mastered includes about 30 articles. And the topics of these articles are: good habits, mother,
planting trees, green hill, work with brain, travel, sports world, trust, clear water, happy life, hero, will and so on. Organize
about 12 ‘Chinese Corner’ activities. We will hold about 12 ’Chinese Corner’ activities in which we’ll provide plentiful
exercises and key of them and also exams every two lessons. At the same time, we’ll summarize tables for literacy, writing
and checking.
